find a language that is beyond a middle European. The bow on the violin talks as
if it is about to loose the connectivity to the string. It soften disapears and screams a bit …
its probably the way I love the violin the most, glissandi, stretched tones and harmonies,
a melody that follows a harmonic system later than expected and a noisy use of the synths,
that fill the emptiness with their distorted existence …
The piece was originally composed as a classical tango waltz in 3/4 with a
touch of Buenos Aires, I took the theme and manipulated it and added electronics
until it became a full sound designed electronic piece with nuances of
classical approach. Like a remembrance of classical times , a view from the 21st century
backwards in time and present for the future.
In winter 2023 I met trumpet player Yael Gat and soon we realized,
that life had some synchronicities between us. Eize – איזה קטע,
in modern hebrew for‚ what a coincidence! Our birthday are on the same day,
we both have a relation to a small village and beach surrounded by motorways
in central Israel called ein hayam near river Alexander national park,
we both lost our fathers due to cancer and didn’t like the instrument of the other,
neither I did like the trumpet nor yael liked the violin.
When I invited her to play and sing to my winter dance piece,
we both thought this is a deep meet. And since than the trumpet and violin are
best friends on Raash and Yael, who played with Barenboim and for the
Israeli philharmonic orchestra Ione of my fav. guests on stage.
In cooperation with Ben Osborn originally created for an online project during covid,
«A Map of empty space» that discovered empty spaces full of history around the house where I live.
It was later used by a dance group for an interactive dance performance.
The simplicity of the sound structure and the significant repeated violin theme bring another layer of
hypnotics to the fragile part of the album.
Represents the second part of my upcoming album «raash ve ruach» — «noise and wind»
Raash in its basic meaning from 3000 years ago has several connotations.
Here we put emphasis on tumult, times when riots or chaotic uprisings took place in ancient times.
In modern hebrew a tumult would rather be translated as Shaon, which also has the
meaning noise, same as old hebrew raash. A shaking and vibration, that often leads to change.
Here it is meant as a hypnotic dance to may lead to change, if we keep on dancing in our communities.
In times of tumults and unsafetiness it is more than ever relevant to dance and to enjoy a part-time society,
as we create kinships and diverse communities. Dance is a bridge without words and materials.

of the end of my 16 years longing love and partnership to my now ex-wife.
Ruach hatquffa is actually one of the first attributes, that come to mind when the ruach,
a very old hebrew word is used. Meaning originally «wind», «spirit» and «breeze/breath» in scripts from 3000 years
ago in modern ivrit it literally mens «the spirit of the period», Zeitgeist …
Zeitgeist is originally a german word and means spirit of time but is used in English with the same meaning.
